Parent Volunteers
Welcome to the Parent Volunteer Program
Why volunteer?
Studies show that parental involvement in a child's education enhances a student's self-esteem and academic achievement. Plus, it can be fun!
We invite you to explore the many volunteer opportunities within our schools and look forward to welcoming you into your child's educational journey.

Volunteer Guidelines
Reliability
The success of the York Schools' Volunteer program depends on reliable volunteers. When a volunteer commits to a specific task and schedule, our staff depends on it. Good communication with the staff member should you need to cancel is vital. Please email or call as soon as you know your availability changes.
Confidentiality
The York School Volunteer further enhances the educational opportunities and experiences of the children within the school system. Please be aware of the need for confidentiality in regard to any school/child-related information. Activities will be directed at all times by the teacher or volunteer coordinator.
Other Information
Please remember that VES and CRES are tree-nut and peanut-aware schools! Please DO NOT bring in food containing any trace of nuts or peanuts.
To get started, please fill out the Parent Volunteer Application in our forms section and please review the Volunteer Handbook prior to volunteering to understand all necessary protocols. You will then be clear to volunteer for the entire school year. Please repeat this process at the start of the next school year!
