Bienvenue à la classe de Français!

This year you will embark on an exploration of the French language and the Francophone world. We will be covering topics such as culture, history, and most importantly the language itself.

•The GOAL of the program is COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE. Our aim is PROFICIENCY in the four foreign language skills: Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. (En français bien sûr!)

•The CHALLENGES of our program are:

to actively engage learners to purposefully communicate in French

to pique the learners’ curiosity about the world around them

to provide students with opportunities to demonstrate an understanding of the relationships between their culture and the various cultures of the French-speaking world

to make connections with other academic disciplines

to enable students as life-long learners to speak and enjoy French beyond the school setting.

•The CURRICULUM is built upon/aligned to the clearly defined 5 C’s of communication, cultures, connections, comparisons, and communities of the National and State Standards for Foreign Language Learning.  Some topics include personal introductions, school life, sports, family, shopping and making plans.

Most of all, we will have FUN learning French! Allez, viens!
