The Great Wall of China should be considered a wonder because it is the longest man-made structure ever created. It is said to be the only man-made structure visible from space! The Wall also had one of the longest building procedures, and it took great precison by its architects and such strength by its workers to create.
The wall was built during the 3rd century BC until the beginning of the 17th century and was created to protect certain dynasties from attacks by Mongol, Turkic, Hunnic, and many other nomadic tribes. It strecthes 16,352 km across China. It was made from heavy brick and has 10,000 watchtowers with cut out holes throughout it, where arrows would be hidden in case of attack. Each tower has a confusing entrance, so the enemy could not get in.
The building procedures required criminals, ill people, prisoners of war, and many other unexpected people. All of these people were needed, because millions of them died building it. It received the title “The Longest Cemetary In The World.” Some sections of the Great Wall are now in ruins or have even disappeared. Some of the broken down stones are used for communities to build shelters. This attraction needed great communication, and working together by it’s people to be built. It is still one of the most captivating attractions all around the world for its historical significance.
