What Happens When We Exercise

On the left you will find a list of dates to remember. These are events that occur in PE classes that involve your students. Click on the event for more details. You will also find a list of CLAS assessments given in PE classes. Click on the titles to download the assessment and rubric.

Energizers keep your students engaged. Studies have shown that students can be expected to sit and focus 1 minute for every year of age. For example, a 5-year old should be expected to sit and focus for 5 minutes before their brain needs a break. Check the link on the right for more details.

I also have some great tools; Cranium Hullabaloo, Twister Moves, Fit Kids Classroom Workout DVD, Movement-based Learning DVD-Rom, lots of movement CD's and Exercise Flashcards. These can all be used as quick activities or longer more involved activities. Check with me to borrow any of these. They are here for your use!

Energizers
Many of your students have different learning styles. These resources can help you teach to the kinesthetic learners in your classes. Click any of the links for some easy activities. I would be happy to come into your classroom and help. PLEASE ASK!

Straighten Up America
Dr. Chris Santini led first and second grade students through some excellent exercises to promote spinal health and good posture. This would make a great morning routine!
