Below is a very brief outline of the Career Quest Program.
Students will:
1. Write resume** ~ submit to English Teacher, revise if necessary
2. Identify a career of interest and develop a list of possible jobsites
3. Contact potential jobsites - establish a job shadow site
4. Write an introductory cover letter** using the template on website ñ submit to English Teacher ñ revise if necessary
5. Prepare the Jobsite Information Packet (incl. resume & intro. letter)
6. Make a follow-up communication with the jobsite supervisor: verify receipt of information packet, answer any questions, and remind them to send back the contract
7. Once contract is signed by jobsite supervisor, get parent signature and return to school counselor
8. Go to the Job Shadow - do journal and interview
9. Write Thank you note using a template on website ~ submit to English Teacher for review, revise if necessary
**The English Teachers will hold on to the final drafts of the resume and introductory letter until the Jobsite information packet is ready to be mailed.
