Public
Information Specialist, Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Edmond, OK 73003
After going through the dot-com
bust of the early 21st Century, I found myself without a job for a number
of months. The company for which I worked, Cox Interactive Media, ceased
operations on Dec. 31, 2002, and laid everyone off. For a short time I
worked as a temporary training assistant in a loan center for the largest
privately-owned bank in Oklahoma, MidFirst Bank. In late May, I was hired
by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services as a Public Information
Specialist. The agency is the largest in the state with more than 8,000
employees. Currently, I am working on technology-related projects for the
Office of Communications and the agency's Data Services Division, which
houses all of the agency's technology specialists. Also, I am assigned to
special projects for the Director of OKDHS, who is also the state cabinet
secretary for Health and Human Services.
As for my family, my wife Lynne
(we got married in 1994) is running a home day care and loving every
minute of having five nearly two-years-old or older running around the
house. Our daughter Carolina (two this past January) is knee-deep in the
"terrible twos."
I hope everyone is well, and
would enjoy hearing from any of you.

I have been married for 16 years to fellow York High alumni Nikki Mckinnon, we have 2 children, Nicholas 15, and Macki 13. Like all kids they keep us very busy. I work for the world famous York Water District. I hope we can all get together for our 20th, its been along time for all of us, and it would be great if we could see each other again. There are some teachers at the High School that are feeling their age after meeting my son, who is a freshman this year. So if there is anyone thinking about getting the Class of 1987 together in 2007 and needs some help with anything please get in touch with me. Cheers!!!!!!!

Elkins Park, PA
It is great to see a network established.
There are many people from school that I would love to correspond with, but have lost
touch. Our ten year is here, and there aren't any plans for a reunion. Hopefully, this
website can help get the ball rolling!

Technical Training Specialist /
Web Developer
Jacksonville, FL 32205
Hi Everyone!! I currently live in Jacksonville, FL. I am employed by ADP. I married Larry in February
1998. We have 1 dog and 2 cats.
Whenever I come back to Maine to visit, I realize how
much I want to move back home. Maybe in a few
years... Of course my parents bought a campground in
Lebanon (land of Noble High) so I hold my head high
and tell them I am from York (and that we beat them in
every sport imaginable). Of course I must visit the
Nubble every chance I get.
I would love to hear from you. Here in the land of
perpetual sunshine.
Take care of yourselves.

Police Officer
Georgetown, KY

I'm living in Georgetown, KY just outside
Lexington. I'm working for the University of Kentucky Police Department
(Yes the Wildcats). We're really enjoying it here in Kentucky. Very
beautiful with all the horse farms around.
We just bought a brand new home in Georgetown and are moving in the 1st of
June. My wife works for two Doctor's who also own a horse farm. Needless
to say both my girls (now 12 and 8) are begging for a horse.
We still miss Mississippi, but it was time to move on. My wife and I are
looking forward to visiting Maine again soon.
My dad still lives in Cape Neddick. I went ice fishing this past winter in
Maine, guess you can't get the New Englander out of me. Everyone here
thought I was crazy.
By the way, if anyone is looking for a good place to work UK is always
hiring. Plus you get to go to the Basketball games for free.
Hope to hear from Ya'll.

Student of Dental Hygiene
Albuquerque, NM 87118
Hello everyone! I became a member of York High School in 1983, and I
left in 1986. My father was in the Air Force, and we moved to
California. I wish I could have graduated with you all, but that's
military life for you. Soon after moving to California, I met my
husband, Rick. We married November 1987. He is also in the Air
Force and we have lived in many wonderful places including Germany, Loring
AFB, ME, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Houston, and now Albuquerque, NM. It
has been a great 13 years. We have two beautiful
children, Daniel-10, and Amanda-8. I am currently attending the
University of New Mexico pursuing a degree in dental hygiene. I look
forward to hearing
from former classmates.

Police Officer
Eliot, ME 03903
I've been married for 8 years and have a wonderful son. I received
my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1991.
I was in college and came across the summer police positions at York Beach
and there I knew what career I wanted. I'm currently a Police
Officer for the Town of South Berwick.
I was hoping this alumni page would assist in making contact with some of
my friends that I have lost contact with over the years.
Lastly. My quote in the yearbook of 1987 was why do it today when it can
be put off until tomorrow is definitely not applicable to the "real
world." I hope to hear from some people soon and this alumni
page is a great idea. I can't thank Mr. Watters enough for
being such a wonderful teacher and friend. Thank You York High
School, it was the most cherished part of my life.

"Furnas" Bates
Knoxville, Tn
After graduating from YHS, I went on to get an Interior Design degree from
Florida State University. I worked in that field and lived in
Orlando for 10 years until the birth of my daughter Sydney, now 18 months
old. My husband Kevin and I have been married for 5 years and we
just recently moved to Knoxville, TN where I am now a stay home mom.
I would love to hear that our class is going to get a reunion together,
and would be willing to help in any way possible. Please feel free to
contact me. I try to get back to York atleast once a year. Really do
miss it (even though Florida will always be home)
I would love to hear from fellow alumni....it's been so hard to stay in
touch with everyone.

Internet Manager
Eliot, ME 03903
After living in Atlanta, GA for 3 years and Denver, CO for 2 years, my husband of 7 years (Jim Cronin class of '86) and I have moved back
to the area. We have 9 month old identical twin boys - Brian and Garrett
- who keep us pretty busy. Currently we live in Eliot, but would like to be in
York eventually. There's just something fundamentally wrong with having the
boys grow us as Marshwood Hawks and not York Wildcats!
I am currently employed as the Electronic Commerce Internet Manager at Liberty Mutual in Portsmouth. Jim works as a promotional goods
sales rep out of the home. We'd both love to hear from any class mates out
there!

So much has been going on. I've traveled a bunch for work and fun, but I’ve settled back here close to home. I did the corporate thing at Timberland for six (long) years and now I’m working in Scarborough, ME for what feels like one of the last US manufacturers of Rope and Cord. It is hard to believe but I met the woman I want to marry – we are getting hitched in September. Other then that, I get in as much backcountry snowboarding as I can squeeze in.

"Bedell" Cheever

waitress/college student/mom
North Berwick, ME 03906
Well, there's a lot to share since we all spent time together. I don't know where to start. I'm married for the second and final time to a wonderful man and I have three boys. They're great and keep us very busy. Alec 11, Ryan 9 and Matt 3.
I was working for York Hospital as a Phlebotomist and then I became a CNA, but after having the third child I decided to be a Waitress and I'm starting school as a full time college student in April. I've decided to follow my passion and go for my Assoc. in Science of Photography.
My mom still lives on Scotland Bridge Rd and my brother lives in Cape Neddick and my son Ryan plays hockey for York so I still have my ties to York and I'm still very proud to say I grew up there. I always love talking to people and seeing old friends. Anytime anyone wants help to get a reunion together or just wants to get in touch, please feel free to contact me (207)676-9383.
