Although my family moved to Kennebunkport in 1973, my senior year of High School, I will always consider York High School my school since I attended the York school system from 1963 through 1972.
After graduating in 1973 from KHS, I attended UMPG or USM-Portland for 2 years. I lived in the Portland area until 1981 when I moved to Beaufort, South Carolina after my sister, Linda Bonney, died tragically in a car accident in the fall of 1980.
While swimming at the base pool on Parris Island, SC, where US Marines go to boot camp, I met my husband of 20 years, Ben Black.
I have lived for 4 1/2 years in California, another year in SC and have lived in Jacksonville, NC, home of Camp Lejeune, the biggest USMC Base on the East Coast, since 1987.
Ben and I have two children, Lynda who graduated from Jacksonville HS last year and is now attending East Carolina University majoring in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Special Needs, and Thomas who is a rising Senior at JHS.
I look forward to seeing all of my classmates from the class of 1973 at the VFW in Cape Neddick on 8/16/03. |
