Living in York
After graduation I
went to work for the telephone company
here in York at the local office in
the Realty Building. After working there for
approx. 15 years York went dial
and I transferred to Portsmouth.
That office stayed open for another 15
years after which I transferred to Dover,
NH. That was an entirely
different method of operating. It was the
computer era. I learned that
system and eventually became a teacher
and service assistant.
Retired in
1986. My personal life involved marriage
to my husband Arthur in 1950 and the
birth of our son Stephen in 1957.
Steve married in 1982 and now we
have two grandchildren, Jed and Amber 14 and 11 years
old respectively. 0n April of 1996 I
applied for and gained employment as a
part-time secretary at the York Senior
Center. I enjoy my work very
much and love working with all the
Seniors. I am a very happy
and active person. I also am
one of the volunteers that run the
cameras for Cable TV at the many
meetings in town such as Selectmen, School
Budget, etc. I've had to stop
my volunteering at the Coastal Ridge
School working with Debbie Palmer's class
because of my work schedule and I feel
very sad about that.
Enough for
now. Hope this isn't too boring
