Network Services provides:


•     Secure access from both within and outside of the local area network for student information systems, grading software, file storage/sharing, library, communications systems, email, and student assessment data

•     A reliable system for management, retrieval and elimination of data

•     A process for end users to access necessary software applications

•     Management for the installation and maintenance of network software

•     Access to tools for teachers and administrators to manipulate and work with student assessment data

•     Uniform virus protection and internet content filtering across all schools

•     Secure remote access to school-based data

•     Consistent approach and policy for archival of data

•     Appropriate training needs specific to file management, storage use and software

•     Webpages:  The Technical Services Department will provide and maintain a platform for a webpage presence for each school and staff member.  The dept is responsible to insure that it exists and functions properly.  The Department is not responsible for the content, nor that the webpage information is up-to-date.   

•     Email:  The Technical Services Department is responsible for implementing an email system for all schools and maintaining updates for email services.

•     Training:  The Technical Services Department will assist with identifying training needs associated with new or changed tech tools and/or personnel.

•     Network:  Provide a secure system to access digital information for all designated users across the district.

•     Budget and purchasing:  The Technical Services Department will work with the Technology Director to develop annual and long-term budgetary processes relative to infrastructure and  hardware needs,  network operations and cost efficiency.

•     User accounts:  The Technical Services Department in cooperation with the Data Manager is responsible for managing user accounts for network services.

•     Emergency Planning:  The Department will advise administration in local emergency planning, specific to uses of technology in crisis situations.

•     User support:  Provide communication system for user support (a help desk, special email addresses, work orders, automated notification).
