Health and Physical Education Curriculum

The York School Department K-12 Curriculum Teams have aligned the York K-12 Curriculum to the Revised Maine Learning Results, Parameters for Essential Instruction in health and physical education.

We recognize parents as essential partners in promoting safe and healthy behaviors in children of all ages. Parents are encouraged to advocate for their child's participation in physical activity, attend to their child's nutritional needs, and foster communication about social and emotional matters. Parent participation in annual sessions on Internet Safety are required for students in grades 7 and 8, and are encouraged at all other grade levels. Parents are asked to access on-line on Internet Safety and Cyberbullying information through Common Sense Media.
