The Maine Learning Results, Parameters for Essential Instruction were adopted in October 2007, following a state-directed review and revision process. The adoption of these new standards by the Maine legislature necessitated a complete K-12 curriculum review and realignment process for all subject areas. Revised curricula were completed for grades K-8 between January 2008 and April 2009; with revisions to grades 9-12 curricula anticipated by December 2009. The York School Department has reverted to the cycle of review and revision articulated in the Educational Strategic Plan. The chart summarizes the cycle.
