Applicants shall bring the following information to the Superintendents
Office Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m.
and 3:30 p.m. to complete the work permit application:
• Birth Certificate or Passport
• Social Security Number
• Most Recent Report Card (during school year)
• Employer Information, including
        Name of Employer
        Employer Address and Telephone Number
        Type of Business
        Occupation w/Specific Job Duties
Work Permits cannot be sent to the State Department of Labor until all information
is complete. Processing time takes approximately ten days to 2 weeks.

Work Permits may not leave the Office of the Superintendent

•Applicants should be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian when applying for a Work
Permit. If the parent/legal guardian cannot accompany the minor, a signed letter authorizing
the minor to work will be accepted.

•The minor may only work one job during the school year and can have two jobs during the
summer. At the end of the summer break the minor must contact the Superintendent and advise
which permit they wish to have cancelled. If a minor works the same job each summer
and does not get a second job, then that permit is valid for the next summer season and no
additional permit is necessary.

•Minors can work:
Up to 3 hours a day on school days
Up to 18 hours in any week with one or more school days
Up to 8 hours on days without school (during weekends, holidays, vacations, storm days, etc.)
Up to 40 hours in a week with no school days
Never more than 6 days in a row
How early? How late?
Between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on a school day, and between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. during summer
vacations only, and
Never during school hours
